Anyone know if the BA XR8 ICC is any different in removal to the BA XT's?? Looking to paint the fascia - like I did on my old one (an XT) but don't wana F**k anything up - so if anyone knows, please let me know..

nah mate they are the same to remove as on an xt. just dont tip the thing upside down, only lay it on its side.

Cheers for that mate!! Yeah figured it might be but wanted to be sure...

Not that I did that with the XT, but any reason why it should not be tipped upside down??

theres a mercury switch i think in it that if put past a certain angle blows and stops all electronics in the car working.

it's a fire prevetative during a rolling crash

I thought it was because the laser stuffs up in the stacker :? And wouldn't a mercury switch would need power for it to work?

i have a bf and changed the circuit board at the front of mine and i tipped mine upside down without knowing about the mercury switch and it still works fine. So i guess the mercury switch needs power to work (which would make sense)

Theres warning stickers on the top of it saying "do not tilt" "discard if dropped".

Hi Glenn (and anyone else interested)

I will be doing up a mini doco on how to remove the ICC fascia and paint.. Most people know how to basically paint, but I'll do a step by step for you all...

Theres no mercury switch. The cd mech can stuff up.

hey just a question i have removed my icc once b4 an after a while i just hit the audio button an it came on but not at 1st. im not sure what happened but i have removed it again an reinstalled in the correct procedure an need to noe on how to get it working or wots it go is lol..

step guide would be appreciated after connecting the 4 plugs under the icc.
