G'day

I was wondering if someone could advise me on how to change the back lighting globe on my climate control panel in my eb fairmont.

Thanks

Have you pulled it apart yet? There is 2 in it 1 at the top that lights the top buttons and a central one that lights the lcd and the rest of it. Ive changed the top one and it required soldering work and it was a b**ch to put back together because the lcd would not display all the segments properly. I got it going after a while and would not be happy if i had to do it again. The globe in there is a long bar shaped one with wires on either end of it and they are hard to find in electronic shops. The one in the middle is the same size as a parker globe but by memory is a solder job too. i have not changed one of those yet but if i were you when you get them replaced dont run your cluster at full brightness as they will burn out quicker. I keep mine only half illuminated.

I did my EA Ghia.. (same CC as EB/D)

Go to d**k smith and buy a bunch of blue 3mm LED's, they are a few dollars each and you need about 9 of them for the selection lights..

The backlights are different, there are 3 globes, one behind the LED display (T10 I think) and 2 T5's (don't quote me on the size of those two.) So replace them with LED's or get some globe dye and go for it.

Looks awesome when done.. I have photos of mine on here somewhere I think.
