G'day

A few months ago i spilled about half a litre of engine oil in my boot and it seeped into the carpet on that big board thing that sits over the top of the spare tyre.
Now if leave anything in my boot too long it soaks the oil up which is causing all sorts of problems.

Any Suggestions on how to get it clean?

My mate splilt 20litres of fuchs hydrolic oil in the back of his pano and the carpet was absolutly soaked in it. It took 10 litres of degresser and the pressure washer then using carpet cleaner and the pressure washer to get it back to half decent. It may work out better for you to just get another boot carpet from a wreckers.

Still cant get the smell out of his car.....or my backyard where we washed it 2 weeks ago :P

Same thing happened to me. I just took the carpet out, loaded it with degreaser and some general carpet cleaning crap and scrubbed the hell out of it and hosed it off with a pressure cleaner. Mostly worked.

Just take the carpet out and clean it, plenty of hot water and degreaser. Take it to a car wash and use the steam cleaner, that may help. Tighten the lid next time on your oil LOL.

Probably need to draw the oil out of the carpet before you clean it. Try something like kitty litter, should absorb most of the oil, then you can go about cleaning the mess left...
