I've also found out how heavy the Fairmont bootlid is - seems the hydraulic thingies don't work anymore - especially if you lean in to pack stuff right at the back of the boot! Can they be refurbished? Worn seals maybe?

Speaking of removing seats - how does the back seat ( the lower one) come off? Slide off? Clips? bolts? Help. Just got some seat covers today. Oh yes, any help on removing the plastic cover on the RHS of the driver's seat?

the struts are a replacement item, getting them regassed IMO doesnt last as long, nor is it worth it

the seat base should pull up if you get your knee in there and give it a bit of a nudge towards the rear of the car

as for the strut mounting cups under the parcelshelf breaking away, i've heard this was an issue especially with the EB GT's, and was fixed just by bolting them into place after they'd cracked out

Yeah I have the same problem, except the weld that holds the boot strut to the chassis has come off :(

I've fallen victim to it twice, dammit :(

g'day cobbers

just wondering how many of you with busted brackets have rear spoilers. I just did a strut in the old mans eb and have the bruised back to prove it.

Mine did more damage then normal...it seems that the strut seized open, so someone has forced the boot down, and went right through the rear seal belt tensioner, making it not tension...a week before road worthy too :\
