Hey everyone, i just got to modding my cluster, and with the help of Bug's awesome looking templates, i've got one hell of a nice looking setup in the works. I'll post up all the pics i take as i'm doing it, and keep you updated onto how it's turning out.....

Well, if you need to know how to get the cluster out of your EF/EL, go to the doco section and read the one called "Blue neon cluster mod" or something like that. Anyway, after i got the cluster off and open, it was a mission and a half to get the needles off gently, so when you attempt this, be very careful, but it does take quite a bit of finger strength to get them off. Anyway, as recommended by a few people, i got Narva 47902 Blue LEDs which come in their own handy little plugs. I "frosted" them by scraping the crap out of them on 150 grain sandpaper, so that the light isn't so directional. BEFORE you do this, make sure you take note of which side of the LED is positive/negative and follow the instructions given in the doco named above. Anyway, once i'd got the needles and faces off completely, and received the printouts of the templates, i got to cutting them out, and i'm still busy doing that as i speak. I got both the masks and full images printed out onto this strange semi-transparent stuff that they use in shop displays (normally backlit by a flouro). The guy at the print shop said they'd be the perfect thing, and who am i to disagree with an expert? Bit pricey tho - $60 for the lot. Anyway, i'll get back to cutting now, more posts to come!! :)

Ok, it's all installed, and here are the pics. Sorry about the blurry one at the end, i'll get another pic once i've dismantled the dash and put the DAMN FUEL LED THE RIGHT WAY ROUND!!! Anyway, it looks s**t hot to me, lets the light through in the perfect places, and because of the material this was printed on, the ticks etc actually luminesce. It looks almost as if there's a UV light in there somewhere. But yeah, yet again thanks to Bug for providing the images, and thanks to my photo place for giving me exactly what i needed. The whole job cost me less than $100, and about 3 hours work. Simple, effective, and something you're gonna notice every time you drive at night. Awesome s**t, keep the Ford Mods coming! :D

Oh by the way, the print shop printed me out 3 extra complete sets of these templates if anyone's interested in them? $10 a pop, and that $10 will go straight to fordmods. Hey, it saves you guys most of the hassle of this job, and cutting $50 off the price tag for the templates, who can complain? PM me and i'll see what i can do. Cheers boys.

Also, before i forget, i know there are a few doco's on fordmods about how to do this kinda thing, but if anyone likes, i can make a detailed account of how it's done, and submit it. As long as someone tells me what format to put it in so it can become a doco, then no problem.

Later.....

Basically just do up your doco in HTML with pics, and PM brad, he'll pass on an email to send the lot to, and bam.

The needle might be catching on the cluster face.
