hi guys once again i need your help i just installed a new car stereo and it sounds great but when the engine is turned on there is a buzzing sound that gets louder as you accelerate any ideas?

I had this problem every time I plugged my Ipod into the cigi lighter to charge it while using it.
I fixed it with one of these http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Ferrite-Core ... 336b11f500 I wrapped the power cable for the cigi lighter through that and no more noise. Now I didn't have it when using the radio, but you could try one of these around your stereo's power cable. Cheap fix and you should be able to get one at Jaycar

Buzzing noise with change in pitch during acceleration would be alternator whine.
Just make sure your RCAs are not running along side the power cable and that the RCAs are connected up nicely. If the RCA and power cable need to cross...cross them as perpendicular as possible. Also the ground at the head unit should have a separate ground...don't use the one from the wiring harness. Ground cable/wire should also be short as possible, for both head unit and the amplifier. Most aftermarket H/U have a ground wire with a spade/washer type end...so find a bolt/screw in the H/U frame or around the dash to earth it to. If you still get a whine after checking the ground etc, check the ground cable in the engine bay, clean the points up if they look a little dirty/rusted.

i should also mention i never had this issue with my old headunit and i still cant fix it could it be a faulty headunit?

If not it could also be the RCA output on the H/U...I believe Pioneer H/Us have a tendency to blow something in the RCA causing interference.

sounds like you got a power wire and speaker wire next to each other, insulate one with plastic tubing, it worked for me

hi guys new headunit is in all the alternator whine is gone but there is a very faint buzz whenever engine is on and volume is low but the faint buzz seems to go away when driving and the buzz only seems to be present in front speakers could this be because the power wire may be too close to speaker wire? and also why is it only present when engine is on?

Main culprit for whining/buzzing/interference is due to bad RCA earth (amp/unit ends), bad RCA, RCA near power cable, bad amp earth, bad H/U earth, RCA earth on H/U stuffed or bumble bees and flies. Forgot to ask, you running the front speakers from the amp? If you're not, then I think it might be H/U related or quality of music...
