Ok ive had it with the ups and downs of the central locking in my ef.

It all started when i got my stereo installed at audiocom and they reckon the stereo has nothing to do with it. Long story short when i put my key in to open a door ( batteries are dead ) the locks go up, then down and stay down. If i open it while they're up they'll keep goin up and down and so forth.

Also my passenger side door wont look when the others are so i assume it might have something to do with it but it still will lock individually.

If any one has experiences or advice (as i will book it in to a locksmith/auto sparky next week) if its something minor i can do it .

Any help is much appreciated.

Sounds similar to my ED's central locking problems except mine wont lock. I've mucked about with the lock mechanisms, locking motors and had a quick look up under the dash for shorting wires but can't find anything which would explain it. Going to take it to an autoelectrician probably next week.

this has been covered so many times mate,it is your door lock actuators there is a doco to replace them all with aftermarket actuators which makes them all alot less noisy and quicker too,or you can find out which one it is(i.e driver or passenger door)and replace that with one from wreckers/ford(dunno if they still sell em).
by the sounds of it is is passenger side though so i would start there.

This will sound stupid but which part is the actual actuator? Is it th lock mechanism or the motor below it.
