i reckon best bet is to fit an XR cluster, they look good and have blue lights.

Would be the best option but i'd love to be able to change the current cluster should be easy to do if someone knows how. Would be interesting to see if the part numbers are the same on both clusters

Big fiddly job. Better off just getting an XR cluster or better yet an FPV one.

Changing the LEDs over is indeed a very fiddly process. All the LEDs inside a BA cluster are surface mount, so you'll need to desolder and then solder in blue ones. If you've got a steady hand and ALOT of patience, and feel like experimenting, give it a shot. Otherwise, a straight cluster swap to XR or FPV series would be the simplest option.

I've seen the occasional FPV cluster pop up on ebay when FTG sell them.

Its a easy job to do, i'd say about 1-2 hours and it'll be done. I changed my old one to red just for a bit of fun one day, if i get round to it i'll take some pics during the week

the other option is cutting the wire off the loom and doing a EF EL type mod to it.

will be FAR cheaper and provide the exact same results.

altho the FPV job will look 100 times cooler

auMatt can change the SMD's over in any cluster. PM him. He can also work other magic too.

FPV clusters are hideously expensive for what they are - basically XT clusters with a different face and blue LEDs. Other than that they're all mostly the same on the inside - even the dial scaling of an XT cluster can be modified to fit an FPV face (7000rpm/220kmh to 8000rpm/270km/h).

Also, if you have any Ba MKII or BF cluster, Matt can even enable shift alert which was only found on FPV Manual clusters.

If you buy a 2nd hand BF XT cluster, and send it to auMatt for the mods and face, I reckon it would still work out cheaper than buying a 2nd hand FPV cluster on eBay.

Can you confirm that shift alert is available on all BA MKII XR clusters?
Cheers
