well i replaced my battery today that went by with no dramas. its just now that the needles on the voltage, coolant temp and oil pressure go all over the place. for example my temp went from just before the N on normal to the red, prompting the temp light to come on!
any of you people know anything that could be the prob, cos its beyond me now. gotta a bit of spare time to have a poke around before i get Dima to take a good look and reaffirm how helpless i am lol..

whats the crazy gauges? is it the voltage gauge. it jumps from 12 to 14 or so volts all the time.?
mine did that. put a new alternator on it and its fixed. or if its not starting could be starter motor?

mate when you put the new battery in did you clean the battery terminals. same prob with my mates skyline. they would make contact long enough for us to try start it and as soon as we got it to turn overe it would die. cleaned the terminals with a wire brush and she was good as gold. try it might work.

fordz, this started when i played with the clutch cable. put a new batt in last week and all was well for a few hours then it died again. left it d/c for a week and it wouldnt start. my mate jump started and it worked, only know it wont start first time but after a few goes..... its fine,

Regie, its the oil, volts and temp guages, it only did it today after i gave the car some curry lol. will clean the terminals real good tomorrow, looks like its public transport for me tomorrow to uni grrrrr lol
