i have a el fairmont ghia,
when i have the dash lights on (ie cluster lights) they flicker brighter and duller, even all the way off..
its annoying as hell.. is this a common problem?

i havent investigated it yet but a place to start would be appreciated.

its all the lighting that comes on inside the car with the parkers on, however the healights are not affected.

cheers
mitch

Is Courtesy lighting affected ???
So is this just the cluster or is switch lighting, like the antenna, demister switch affected as well ??
Do the LCD screens (odo, climate, TC) do same???

(battery was moved long before this problem surfaced)

I'd be more inclined to say the dimming circuit in the BEM, a dry joint may give you these symptoms.

Since all the items being controlled by the dimmer are affected - that's a fair call.
