they are physically the same in an EA Ghia... just bolt out, bolt in... problem is, you need the sensor on the fuel cap, and I'm not sure on the doors as my EA ghia hasn't got any.. lol... but should be a straight swap over, tacho should be the same plug and s**t aswell..

Cheers

It won't plug and play, I've installed them in a ED before, You need to totally re-wire the whole thing ..

here is pic of what your in for, (the back of the digital dash)

Image

You just about have to cut and rejoin every wire ...

took me 2hrs,

Oh, and the door switches, your going to need a relay for each door ..

What dash you got in your ED at the moment? ... povo/taxi dash or s-pack?

Hey guys

I just put in a NA fairlane LCD cluster into my EA Fairmont today... I got the LCD cluster from a wreckers for $50!!! Make sure you get the wiring connecters with it!!!!!

The documentation on this site, for the 2nd row of wires on each plug is in reverse... eg. 12 pin plug description on the site goes pin 1-6 then pin 12-7... its been labelled in reverse.

But, yes, you have to strip just about every wire from the original plugs and rewire it to match the upmarket cluster. Its a C*** of a job... but its gotta be done... took me about 2 hours to strip and rewire sitting in my driveway.

The easiest way to rewire is just attach the simular wires... eg... green wires to green wires, orange to orange...

The LCD illumination wires (red/black & black/white) can just be hooked up to the igintion on V12+ (green/red) and the black/white wire to ground, although Im considering placing a variable resistor on these wires to dim the light (full 12V is very bright on the LCD).

If you leave the door wires disconnected, the LCD door displays the doors opening and shutting in a never ending loop.. it won't stop... its annoying as hell... I'm gonna tackel that one tomorrow.

Does anyone know how to stop the doors opening and shutting?!?!

Yeah, you need resistors and relays for each door, Think the resistor is about 180ohm ... not sure how you wrie it up again tough .
