anyone got pics or instructions on how to remove the interior door handle from the surround? ie, the bit you pull to open the door from the plastic bit that doesn't move, if that makes sense...

easy. pop off the screw cover and take out the screw, the whole door handle assembly should be loose, then just lift it up and out off the connecting rod

yeah push that gold pin out, but remember how it all goes together, and for your sake do it gently, as there is a VERY small tab that one of the springs needs fo fit easily.

pulling them apart is easy its the reverse thatll do your head in :)

have fun

it seems they don't like to start after a week and a bit... it just coughed, spluttered, misfired and died. :? restart, try again, same thing. up goes the bonnet, all looks fine, down goes bonnet. tries again, same thing. my payman who was having a smoko came to have a look, so i got him to listen to it. did the same thing again, and then the smoke appeared! :P

so it seems they didn't fix the cracked sump on it last time, lack of oil (but no oil pressure warning light :?), backfire into the airbox and away we go

pity that happened, i had to drive i vz commo. it made me feel dirty

fordz - you might have seen on the news that police bus they've just got off metro. it was at that murder scene where they found the bloke in the bush, near wanneradoo or whatever that place was called. last thursday dad was driving that back to hobart for the cops, and that shat itself too - piston through the block 3 times, the conrod was bent like a heap of S bends put together, camshaft is bent, crank snapped and all of the timing gear was destroyed. i didn't think that was a bad effort

Pull the pin out slowly and watch the orientation of the spring.

When reinstalling, the spring is under no tension. It is only tensioned when the handle is opened.
