What was different the second time u tried it? I have that crap and ive sprayed it on heaps of random s**t (old ea snorkel, trees, old wheels, tyres, the bare metal shed.. i was bored) and it looks silver on every surface..

Well it needs alot of shacking.

I also think the key to it may be the surface its going on to.

The 2nd coat was thick.

I also think that if the surface if primed well then it works better.

THe handles look great but they fade too quickly. Just by touching it with pressure it turns to grey.

Im going to go out and get some clear coat and redo them properly.

Hopefully everything turns out well.

Off track a little but Mr sperm and I have nearly the same door trims. Same colour blue inserts and the chrome handles and all. LOL.

What have you covered the door trims with?

I was going to get some dark blue maybe black leather and redo mine along with the center console lid.

I know they arnt as good as the real ones but hey. Its an mod that noone else on fordmods has done yet. It may even work good enough that most people do it.

Ill try giving them a polish later.

people have done this painted mod, but it hasn't turned out chrome so they prob wouldn't mention it on this site.. also other people that havn't done this mod know that the chrome comes out silver, as many people have witnessed and said it..

if your going to clear them, then don't polish the surface until after you have cleared them

if you apply the clear just after polishing them, the paint will react with the polish in a nasty way screwing all your hard work up :!:
