im trying to take off the doorcards on the EL and i have followed the instructions given to me by winding the window down and then removing all the screws. the bottom of the doorcard is moving around fine but the top isnt moving. do i need to do something with the door handle? if so, how do i get that off?

Pop the centre cap off the door handle, and undo the screw there. If Also behind the armrest is 2 screws, pop out the little covers and get those 2 buggers as well. The lift and all is good. Also i prefer to have the window up when removing, as it is easier for the re install.

there is a screw in the middle of the handle. It's behind the little plastic tab. Just pop the tab out undo the screw and the handle will come out. You need to twist it carefully to remove it from the actuating (i think that is the right word) rod. then there are two screws in the armrest, again behind tabs, these have metal bits behind them that usually stay behind. You will need some pliers to pull the out to get to the screws. Also dont forget to remove the locking button for the door. That is removed by grabbing the bit that goes up and down when locking and pulling it upwards. you will need to pull quite firmly as they clip on pretty securely. if you have manual windows you will also need to remove the window winder, i think it is just a screw in the middle of the winder.
Hope this helps. :D

allright i have undone the door handle and it is real loose up until the very top line where it is up against the window. it feels like it is jammed in there and i dont want to lift too hard becuse it feels like it will snap off and i would prefer not to break it haha. is there anyhing im missing or any special way to lift it off?

The first time the door trim is removed is the hardest. The clips basically seize on after 10 years so just give it a bit of force, but not enough to break anything obviously. Using a screwdriver to prize it off can work also.
