Not sure If this is the right place to put this....

My EL Manual was missing the rubber pad off the clutch pedal. I went and bought one from Ford, but it doesn't fit. The EL Clutch pedal pad apparently is the same as the one for the brake pedal. My clutch and brake pedals however are the opposite shape.

I'm wondering if maybe my car has the pedal/pedalbox out of a boxcar. I don't know if mine was a factory manual or not.

If anyone knows anything about the differences or what pad I need, help me out :D

They are the same but the shape points different ways don't they?

Basically the exact same but opposite direction yeah?

all manual pedals should look like this (as in the brake and clutch rubbers)

the clutch pedal rubbers are the same from ea to el..

sounds like they gave you a brake pedal rubber??

Thats what it looks like.

I need the pad for it, but Ford has it listed as the same one for the brake pedal. Obviously it isn't. It was confirmed by a dealer and by Papa Smurf however.

WTF?

Hey Dan, take it back and buy one through sprint or someone like that. Its just a piece of rubber at the end of the day.

All you'r gonna be doing is putting your foot on it.

Sometimes a wreckers is a much better option, besides, if its just a piece of rubber... pocket the b**ch and bail! :wink:

the clutch pedal rubbers are the same from 66 XR to EL even,
although there were a couple of manual brake pedal rubber variations with power disc brakes and 4 wheel discs and the standard plain one

they only cost $6 new, if your that much of a tight a** that you need to steel one from a wrecker.

Yeah I would prefer to buy a new one to flogging one off from the wreckers. I meant buy an after market one rather than a genuine one.

The problem is the some wreckers would charge 10.
What ets me is when people go for second hand brakepads.
