How are your high beam/indicator lights going to show through?

Thanks for the positive comments.

At the moment I'm trying to track down some high quality glossy photo paper that has an adhesive backing. Its made by Epson, Konica Minolta and a few others in grades ranging from 135 to 256GSM.

I'm not sure if the heavier grades will let the light pass through for the graduations on the gauges themselves, but this paper should make it very easy to make custom gauge faces.

Oh.....and the sections for high beam and the indicators will be removed to show the original coloured indicators for these. Once I get it all sorted I'll post links to the correctly sized files for printing as promised. People are asking way too much for this stuff....I'll give the pics away for free on the proviso that they wont be used for commercial ventures.

Here's one for all the wannabe revheads out there. The standard tacho will only read to 6500RPM. But if you need to get to 7000RPM you really need a better tacho than the factory one anyway.

FYI, I use 190gsm Kodak 'Glossy Photo Paper'

print pretty pics on one side, and on the reverse print a black mask to be sure no light get through where I don't want it.

Image
This shot was of test prints, but you print the black mask directly on the back of the paper (be sure to reverse/mirror it so it prints right).

I found keeping red on the mask layer helped produce a rich red colour, one layer of red sorta gets washed out.

Thats definatly different. Not my cup of tea - but different.

Will you be getting someone to recalibrate the speedo and the tacho?

Why did you pick the FPR Logo for the cluster??

How come the redline is at 6000? Surely an EA cant rev that high.

Where will the high beam, and indicator signals display on the dash?

I have answered two of your questions previously XR8Chic. I used the FPR logo because I like it and I had it on my PC.

Anyhow.... here are the scaled print ready pics for people who want them. If you want to alter them I suggest you email me for the PSD files and alter them instead or you'll be recompressing and losing pixels everytime you save them.

Right click on these and select "save as".

byrneing, I will be redoing the scans very shortly to improve on the quality. If you can wait until I get around to it I will email them to you then. The scans I have aren't real brilliant and needed a bit of touching up in photoshop. I am new at this photoshop game and have aquired some tutorials to help me get this all done a lot easier.

I am in the process of making the black mask backings for all the gauges.

the masks are easy using layers in photoshop/paintshoppro. Using the magic selector tool, select the black areas you want to keep black, change to a new layer, and fill them in with a black paint bucket - repeat. When printing be sure to turn off yoru picture layer, and print with 'mirror' turned on and your paper upside down.
