Hey there.

Question 1 is about the door seals.

As many of you will also have this problem, and some would have fixed. My door seals are stuffed, along with the weatherstrips on the outside of the door/window. I have some very very good door seals off the donor EF, but it seems impossible to save the clips, and was wondering can i buy these from anywhere?
I tried FORD this arvo, but they are not available seperatly from the seal itself.

Also the outside weatherstrips are no longer available for the back of the EB. I can get EF front ones to go with my mirror mod, but they are rediculously expensive. I will probably still get the fronts, but what have ya'll done about the back ones?

Question 2 is about electric windows.

As it was winter when i did my conversion, i haven't used the rear windows much, but coming into the hotter months, i will want to. When i did the conversion, the left rearregulator broke a plastic clip, which i replaced with a spare off another buggered reg i had. Since then, it makes a grinding noise from inside the gear chamber part where the cable goes into. I think i must have accidently twisted the cable when re-assembling.

Now, will this cause it to s**t real soon? can i just puyll it back apart and untwist it, or will i never figure out which way to go?

If this will just make moise and never cause a prob, then thats ok, i jsut don't want it to snap when i'm out oneday, and be unable to lock it.

Thanks guys, sorry for long a** post.

Andrew.

just buy new rubbers from ford simple as and then the road noise is gone completely.

for the outside weather strips use a set of a EF/EL wagon dude same as box car rears

OZBMX- Ah yes i remember that, i think it was indeed bunter and benj, i'll do a search for the thread.

el_747 - How long ago was this? i tried yesterday, but they said no, but the may have not known what i was on about, they aren't real cluey in my area. Not so sure i wanna spend $3 each though when i need about 100 of them. :)

biggav - ah hah, i had a suspicion that ef/l wagon ones would fit. luckily they are still available. On the rubber note, the reeckon they can't get rears for even ef/l anymore either?

Maybe i'll see what clark rubber or some place can do about the clips for the door rubbers. I have new rubbers there, but no clips. I just can't justify paying nearlly $350 for 4 rubbers, just because i don't have clips.

Thanks heaps for the input guys. If i find a cheap solution, i'll post it up.

Also if anyone knows about my elec window dilema, just holla. :D

Andrew.

Mate i work at a ford dealer so i know they are still available. I have no idea how they couldn't find them on the computer it shows you right next to the door seal. Mate them door seals are not cheap i think the are $110 + Retail for the EF ones. EA-ED you cannot buy any more besides the passenger front. EF - EL rear door seals are obsolete. Almost all E series stuff is becoming obsolete :(

Yeah i found that i also couldn't get the rear ef/l seals. Lucky i have some new ones, but need a way to fit them.

Yeah the ford dealer near me seems a bit iffy. Maybe he didn't know exactly what i was asking, but i couldn't have been any clearer.

I'll have to find some suitable clips somewhere.

All the ones from wreckers are stuffed, atleast up here. I may end up buying the fronts new from ford, if i can't find some wagon ones for the back at a wrecker, i'll just have to try and get them new aswell.
