Hi, I am new here. My wife has an old EB2 and I wanted to swap out the dead climate control unit. I have found a Fairmont unit which is all digital. I have also bought the digital clock. I suspect that I will require sensors for the heater. Am I in for heaps of grief trying this swap-out? Any/all help would be appreciated.

The eb2 is a GLI and has sliders for the Air Con?

If so you can't just replace the sliders with the Auto Air Con unit. You have to completely replace the whole setup which includes removing the dash, changing the wiring and the obtaining all the other components from a donor car.

Just pulled the climate control unit out. I will be going out and buying the same unit. Even disconnecting the heater cable without breaking it, will be a massive horses bottom. Oh to have tiny little itty bitty fingers...
