a few weeks ago it just stopped,speedo is working fine just the odometer
i have replaced the speedo unit in dash,
checked the speedo gear in the gearbox it's fine
im puzzled what could the problem be

there is a little gear that drives the odometer. very common for these to wear out and breaka tooth off.

Rip an old cluster out of a car from the wreckers, and use the gear from it (as long as it is working). If the Km/s are similar, you can just pop the cluster in. It is more than likely that the Ford dealership will not be keeping them in stock anymore (I would, right about now is when they are all breaking) and if they do it would probably be cheaper to use the cluster.

i bought a speedo unit from pick and payless that was stuffed too
next time i go ill look for that little gear

I go to jaycar and show them the gear, they come back with a brandnew one, cost F**k all.
