Hey guys,

Just a simple one. Wondering if the manual gear stick is the same in an ED as an EF?

Thanks,
Nic

I dunno about EF, but I know EL have kind of an S shape to them, and are easier to shorten cause you can just cut more thread and then cut some thread off.
Interesting to note though, EL GT went back to pretty much the ED gearstick LOL, just the straight bend back.
It has poly bushes and no thread though cause GT gearknob was different.

They all interchange though, thread is the same.

No, ED and below have a basic angled stick.
EF/EL has an S shaped stick.

okay cool guys. so they are different.

lets just say though, if i got an ED one, would it even fit my EF gear boot? or will the different shape not fit under it.

btw, nice quick replies!!

ED one should fit the boot, but I think the EF/EL console sits further back so the S shape brings the lever back with it.

Chances are the boot itself may stretch too far forward in 1,3,5 and even pop out of gear if under stress.

But then again, being a shorter shifter or even if you shorten it, it may not matter.

Might be easier just to make one alltogether.
