my standard ford radio in my falcon is asking for a code where do i get this code? well i have to buy it off ford? thanks

ive had to take the rego papers in to ford to prove you own it and they hit me up for $20.00

car has no rego atm so if i take something proving i bought the car they should let me buy it

take your vin number to a ford service center, if they hit you up for cash, tell them to suck it and walk out, some try to some don't I have a feeling it's an unnoficial kick back thing.
When they tried to sting me 10 bucks for it I told them it was a joke, and walked out, but 20 seriously for a minutes work, you bought a ford, your entitled to your factory radio code. maybe call around and check if they charge.

It takes from 5 - 10 minutes to get the radio code depends if the system is working. U should see what is involved to get a radio code with just a serial number it's a pain in the a**. I the reason why some dealers will charge people for a radio code because it's take a fair bit if f**k around. I work at a ford dealer and i think it's wrong to charge for a radio code the 1st time.

Haha, mate you must be struggling with something then I know there's a few letters in a vin but it's not that hard. I was out the door in 5 minutes 4 of those asking about other s**t, and I'd misread a couple letters off the vin so that slowed us down, but they had a bit of an idea what they were doing.
Turns out there's even some logic to them it's not just a completely random code.  knowledgeable staff always make life easier, after all it's not a woolworths.
