At first I would say no. EF and EL interchange a few parts but I dont think dash to engine would be counted. Better off sticking with original stuff ie purely EF or purely EL if possible.

What about dash to body?

Ill probably change the dash and engine bay looms to EL, but cant be bothered pulling teh body loom out :D
..mainly because the door switches need to be redone and i cant be bothered pulling the carpet n stuff out aye
Will they go?

I cant see a whole lot being different between the two?

Firstly, may I suggest you put your type of car in on the left hand side? It makes it easier when we know what we a re dealing with. Just change it in profile.

Assuming its an EF.

Between EF and EL the seats (I am pretty sure they do), door trims (although a differnt colour), clusters (again different), dash sourronds might but the EL has a different ashtray system sso might want to confirm, most of the buttons and knobs and gauges.

There is not a lot of difference between the EF and the EL. A few body changes (the EL has the grill at the front and the hood has more raised edges), ECU changes, engine bay changes (air intake system is a little different) but other then those major things they are pretty muc interchangeable.

Ive got a EB fairmont.

Its currently got EF Fairmont Ghia wiring in it.
Running off a EL computer, i think, dunno the codes for El comps so cant check atm

Has EL dash, NL cluster, EF seats and carpet.

The EF wiring in it atm is crap. The guy i got it off was an idiot and cut thinkgs here there n everywhere, so i dunno whats going on with it. So has to go.

Was considering re doing it in EL and runnin my thermo's off th ecu n also goin aftermarket EMS of some kind in toe future to allow mods.
The only cars i know that run the computer i want are ED/L's so ill use wiring that i know works with it, and i can borrow there tunes :D

Ive got the dash out at the moment, and am pulling the engine bay loom out soon.

When we put the body loom in the door switches were missing (re: guy i got the wiring off) so we just soldered them in perminantly, and thats why i was hoping the EF Body loom can stay.
Spose its not too hard to redo, but wanna keep work to a minimum :)

Also remember that the EL engine bay loom is completely different to all previous models.

Upto EL, there were 2 plugs to run the trans and 1 plug to connect to all the injectors, sensors, etc from the ECU. (2 round and 1 8 pin rectangle plug against the firewall behind the intake manifold)

In the EL it was reduced to one large square plug that bolts to the BBM, and everything branched off that. So it might be a bit of stuffing around to make it work. Maybe just easiest to go out and get an entire EL loom from front to back.
