I'm trying to replace my centeral locking with a Jaycar unit as per the document

http://www.fordmods.com/forums/EF-EL-Ce ... n-d74.html

I've wired it up and all the motors respond to eachother, I pull up on a master actuator and the rest go to the unlock position.

However, the remote won't work. I've taken the lock/unlock lines from the BEM and wired them into the Jaycar control moduel. Is that right or do I wire the lock/unlock lines from the BEM directly to the master actuators and only use the Jaycar control unit for power.

Did you re-learn the remotes? with the BEM?

The BEM still responds to the keypad. When the motors are in the lock position when you press the remote the lights flash twice and the horn beeps. When in the unlock the lights flash once.

So this is working? and you just want to know:
I've taken the lock/unlock lines from the BEM and wired them into the Jaycar control moduel. Is that right or do I wire the lock/unlock lines from the BEM directly to the master actuators and only use the Jaycar control unit for power.

??

The keypad itself still works.

I've hooked up the kit. The white and brown lines from the Jaycar control module are hooked up to the yellow/black and red/yellow lines from the BEM and the rest is hooked up as per the Jaycar instructions.

But when I press the button on the remote, the door actuators don't respond. They do respond when I pull on a master directly.

If I ground the lines in the BEM directly the locks respond. Could my BEM be dead?

Why change the originals as they work fine. easy to fix/replace.

The stock parts are crappy and overpriced. Ford were far from building the finest car when they thought of the EF.

It's also my car and I can do whatever the hell I want to do to it. Why do people have a problem with this?

Mods, please delete this thread. The problem has been sorted and the new locking system is working fine.

What was wrong with it? loose connection or something? or was your BEM died?
