My newly purchased EF wagon seems to have decided to stop locking and unlocking...
It was working fine one minute, then teh next the remote fob didn't do anything and the dash button didn't do anything, and manually moving the snipper button on the driver's side didn't do anything either...the whole thing is dead.
I recently discovered that the BCM is incharge of central locking...and I am dreading the diagnosing and fixing of this problem, but it's gotta be fixed. I can't lock the back doors without the system.

Any idea where to start?
If it is the BCM dying, what's a secondhand one worth?

I'm not used to cars where a computer decides everything...give me a multimeter and a simple wiring system!

1st thing to do is check your fuse for the door locks. If it is blown replace it ,if it keeps blowing you have a short circuit in your wiring or the actuators.A 2nd hand bcm I have bought for $30 so check ebay or someone here may have one.Good luck keep us informed.Kevman :)

Thanks, will try when I get home!
Just found my multimeter too, went walkies during the recent house move so now I can check wires and so forth.
Will try fuse first, then check wiring to actuators etc.

Fuse sounds good, it is completely dead system whether I am using the key of manually doing it, or using the dash button, or the remote. Nothing works.
I'm hoping to have it back on the road in a few weeks, as I'll need something when my other car goes into the bodyworks...some **** hit it in a car park, right on the wheelarch lip and they never left a note...
