gday im trying to change my center console from an ea one to an ef but it doesn't seem to fit are these able to fit into my car or do i need to change the whole dash i am doing it because i see lots of people putting AU ones in

the ef one can fit but doesnt really line up with the ea dash..
i have seen a au one in a ea and it seems to fit better.. but if you have power windows au doesnt have its power window switches in the console like e series.. |

Yep AU ones fit, I personally don't like the look of them however.
What I've been mulling around is the fitment of an EL console lid to the EA-ED console, flipping over the hinge and moving it back lets it mate up to the front of the console nicely but there is a slight overhang at the back of the lid. As seen in this picture. 
Anywho, I'm going to find where I put the hinge for the EL lid and see how it sits on that so I have it finalized for the ED console install. |

yeah it looks like it doesn't match up to the ea dash i have heaps of ef s**t lying around i might change the dash but i like the ea dash better
and i just broke the sliding plastic in the gear selector so know i have to change it (spewing) als i wanted is the cup holders from the ef lol

cheers dude im not going to worry about it then if i have to bog and fiberglass it to fit i just thought it would be a quick and easy mode but its not worth that effort

would he of painted it in normal paint or special paint because it will deff rub of the arm rest

Vinyl/Plastic paint then just retrimmed the armrest I'd say

cup holders in the ef/l consoles are fairly useless, anyway, IMO.
 the console lid seems to push the cups forward, and as you brake, everything spills forward.

ef cup holders. i have invented a top end device to keep the legs up
2 of the black fold back clips onm each leg  all up = 40 cents

yeh a AU one goes straight in i just cut away some of the AU rear vent tubing to go over the EA one from the dash then put two long screws down the consol bucket to secure it to the floor so no movement will have to get a pic shortly.
