Hey fellas

I have a el fairmont with the arm rests without the little pocket thing in them I want to know if there interchangable with the gli ones with the pocket. I think maybe it has something to do with the power windows

Any help would be great

Thanks

That part is actually a moulded part of the doortrim, so you'd have to use gli trims. eg you'll have odd holes in the fronts and your trim may not match.

If you are wanting to use the arm rests from a Futura or Fairmont, they will not work with a wind up windows as the handle fowls on the front part.. You need electric windows.

what he said :P

so you have a fairmont, I assume it has power windows? you can swap the trim but you will have a hole were the manual handle would come out. unless you get them retrimed.

Another suggestion is to get some fairmont trims make a templet and cut out the section and install the pockets of a gli door trim into it

Yeh ok I figured as much. I have a few spare sets of trims lyin around so I might try and cut and paste lol
When I had my old gli eth I loved that pouch cause I put my phone in it. But also don't want to loose the lower pouch of the upper models so I may try and combine the two.

Thanks for the replies

Yeah they were handy I thought it was just a nice solid handle to grab at, felt solid compared to the flexing armrest i have now. Although they always get filled with crap and a pain to clean out.

by the way the gli doors have a bracket that hangs out for that pocket to screw into might be wortth chasing a set down.

Also the el gli have the lower pocket in the front trims aswell as the handle, so maybe worth a squiz, although the lower pocket can be fitted to any trim as it attaches to any standard door skin.
