hi guys ive got a set of 4" speakers i want to put in the front door, how do i get the grille off the door trim

Yeah, they break off! No need to get shirty mate. The only way to get to the speaker without breaking the grilles off is to remove the door trim as has already been mentioned. |

Very easy to remove and refit.
Your 4" speakers are not going to do any justice the 6" stock will prolly do a better job. (if working) 6" or 6½" is what you need to replace them with.

would it be possible to melt the glue on the grill and pull it off then glue it back on?

ive had the 4" hooked up to the stereo and they sound better than the stockies am i gonna have a problem mounting the 4"

Your gonna have more problems undoing the damn grill.
Theres like 10 screws around the trim, Wind down window and remove handle 1 holding the finger grip in the door. 2 holding the arm rest Pull out the snip *button* Undo the mirror wire/toggle lift up trim. Yes you'll have more troubles with mounting 4" speakers in a 6" hole. but you'll find out.

how much trouble and is the door trim gonna clip back in, 1 problem i find is u pull something off and it nvr goes back on straight

umm..
ok, I'll reply logically without any sexual comment. They are piss easy to take off, replacing them is even easier. give it a go. they're not complex and you'll have no 'hidden' surprises. you just undo, unclip and remove. very easy.

geez my16 year old DAUGHTER can take these door cards off (and has done )helping me change my speakers

Mate those little speaker grilles are f**k hard to get off. as said has about 10 pins that go through the trim then have metal lugs holding those pins in tight. Door trim takes 2 minutes to take off and go back in the same amount of time. I would bet both me nuts that you'd break the grill trying to take it off without taking off the door trim.

Put in 6 inch speakers in the front doors. Last week a set of 3 way 6 inch speakers were fit in the front doors of an EF Futura and sound awesome.
Do not mess with the grilles as you would have to buy new ones. Just look around the door trim and see where it screws in and how it fits onto the door skin.
