Might get flogged as this has probably been bought up in the past...

Can you easily with no mods put a el centre console into an ed? does anyone have any photos of how this looks?

More so... is there any people out there who are talented enough to graft the El cup holders and front (only front) power window switched into an ED console they would sell me?

As i like my gear stick set up and i don't think it'd be possible to set up a BA gearstick in an EL console... but want cup holders and front power window switches...

anyone who can help please do... otherwise if my dreams aren't possible... please let me know???

Thanks...

Yes it has, but here we go anyway . . . . .

Yes and no.

Required removal/modification of the lower A/C ducting to the console on the EB side, and filing of the EF Console so it would fit under the dash.

Also requires, EL Carpet, and Plastic Console support.

Yes, there are people talented enough. If they were to charge you by the hour, it would cost you more than your boxcar is worth. If you can't do this sort of work yourself, it gets REALLY expensive.

You can't have everything you want without a lot of hard work, or know someone who is prepared to help you and donate their time and expertise.

BenJ...

Thanks yeah sorry to be pain and have bought this up again... I have only been using this for a while now and I don't know if its just me but every word i try and search for is either there too often or not there and as such displays no results...

I know that I can't everything... Was just after some small luxeries and I didn't think about the hourly rate thing... yes can imagine it would start adding up quick...

Just out of curiousity, is this grafting business hard? like does it require much talent to get a neat looking finish?

Thanks,
Tim

Hey Tim,

Regarding cup holders, by chance when I was at pick a part I stumbled across a tray about 20x150x180 where you push a button and the cup holders spring out. Must have been out of a subaru or something. Anyway the plastic bit under the stereo in my EA that looks like it was made to be cut out to fit something bigger, thats where i put them. I just cut it out and secured the holders to the bottom of the stereo basically. So now I've got spring out cup holders :D I'll try remember to take a pic and put it up tomorrow if you like.

Apart from that if your into having that cupholder out of the EL, might I suggest cutting into your EB console and using wooden framing(or what ever works, bits of icecream container and rivets?) and builders fill to smooth out the gaps. You can get pretty creative and unique with this stuff, I plan on mounting some spottys in my bumper in the same fashion. Just pick up a s/hand console and try something out.

That's my 50 cents anyway

Yeah got to admit those cup holders are heaps better frankly the ef el ones which are pretty woeful.

Personally I want to know if I can get the ba cup holders with to mould to an ef with electric windows, love the idea of that lid.

i have AU centre console in my EB and i personally think it is one of the best mods i have ever done, the cupholders are way stronger than the flimsy EF/EL ones.only drama i had was finding a manual gearshift boot for an AU.

If he hasn't got some photos to you shortly I'll go out and let him drive a car with a clutch for a while and take some photos. Subaru's do have some nice idea's on their cup holders - all sort of foldie awayie...
