It seems my EL fairmont may be a writeoff and now I'd like to replace it with a fairmont ghia.

Its got two things that I dislike - the awful speed sensitive power steering which I'll destroy so it feels like a normal car instead of a barge designed for people without driving ability, and the leather seats.

Do people prefer the leather? If so I'll definitely buy a ghia and i'd like to do a straight swap for the velour seats from a regular EL fairmont.....

Otherwise if nobody wants the leather seats, I'll need to buy a regular fairmont and put an LSD into it which is considerably more f**k around so I'd rather avoid that route....

No, I'm ONLY interested in EL fairmont velour seats or XR seats, nothing else at all.

There should be the odd EL Ghia with velour, as from the factory you could downgrade it for those who dont like dead cow.

Perhaps... I think the velour are the nicest seats to sit on and I hate leather seats, think of the summer and sweating on the bastards. Only reason I'd consider XR is since they're not designed to seat the average 200kg businessperson and have better side bolstering etc.

I dont want cloth though.

I haven't purchased the car - I like the fairmonts and would rather buy a ghia since they have the LSD and slightly higher output engine but would like to upgrade the leather seats to velour and restore the normal power steering. If people aren't interested in leather then I'll buy a regular fairmont and put an LSD into it....

I hope so, I'm gonna be fussy for the next car, so beggers can't be choosers on the secondhand market.

Oh, does the EF/EL XR6 have 4 door lekky windows, LSD and a trip computer?

I have a EF Fairmont with velour. I doubt you'd want to swap. We'd have to swap doortrims too, as these are velour as well.

Only problem is you'd lose your woodgrain, as my doortrims don't have it (which I like about it)

I'd love some leather seats.

I have an EL fairmont with Perfect Velour seats and trim.

Id be happy to swap if i you want.

My interior is grey and i would prefer grey seats.

Keep in touch.

Good luck with buying a car.

I also have an el fairmont with the velour that is in perfect condition a1, seats, no tears or burns (has seat covers on for many years).
I would also be happy to swap and my interior is also grey and i would like to get grey seats.

If you would like to swap, also depending on the leather seats, just let me know if you want to do something. im from the western surburbs, melbourne metro and if you want some cash, we can work something out.

thanks and good luck with the purchase.
