I have an EBI manual (without smartlock), a couple months ago I bought a EL Futura, i want to use the EL BMM engine in my EB, and the entire dash if possible. My EB is currently stripped bare (no engine, no interior).

On removing the wiring looms from the EL i discover that 'Smartlock' bloody thing is intergrated into everything, My EB doesnt have ABS or AIRBAGs or CRUISE CONTROL, I dont want all that and I dont want the smarlock.

Is there a way I can use half of the EB loom and bits of the EL loom to make it work?? Its driving me insane, I think my brain is starting to bleed. I didnt realise they'd be so different.

Can the dash (air controls/instrument cluster) operate off the EB dash loom?

I realy need some sort of instruction, because im on the edge of burning both cars. help.

It is possible, but alot harder to do. BENJ on here has done it, and itsa rather detailed in his thread in THE GARAGE.

Go have a looky mate, it'll help a great deal.

Hi

Is there a particular reason you don't want smartlock?

If you transfer all of the looms etc and dash along with the EL ECU and EL BEM, it should all work fine.

If you do it the way I have, then you will need a smartlock bypass module to allow the EL ECU to start, and an aftermarket alarm for the remote central locking and immobiliser functions.

My advice is, do lots and lots of research. Really go through all the other build threads you can find, and then choose the best options for you.

BenJ
