New to forums.
I just got my brother in laws old car, a 1997 EL that has been sitting in his garage for over a year, with 112000km and a price tag of just take it I want my garage back, How could I refuse.
He said it has a flat battery and that was all. Well after 45min of trying to start it, we discovered it had now spark, A new coil later I got it registered.
WOW I think with the flat battery and the jump starts, we set off the air bag warning light.
I have tried disconnecting the bat over night, starting the thing 200 times and lastly I tried to reset the air bag warning light clear pin.
My problem is I read that shorting pin 4 (from left on top) to ground and you will hear 5 beeps, to indicate that it reset, I shorted the pin but no beeps. I also read that it only works on an EF only. As money is short and I can’t take it to ford, Has anyone any advice.

Thanks

Turn the car on and write down the code the airbag light spits out. The module won't reset unless the problem is fixed.

Check the technical documents for a list of what the codes mean.

just needs to have the code cleared if that code refers to low battery voltage. But on an EL i think you do need a scan tool.

Yeah code 52 can mean a blown fuse, it's in the interior fuse panel
Once you have replaced the fuse you will need to reset the module
