The EF BEM will dim fine, EL's won't - the LED's stay on very dimly - need to keep a normal globe installed for proper dimming, e.g. the ign key illum.

I have an EL, and my interior lights are LED's and I don't have that problem at all. Not saying you're wrong or anything, but maybe I just got lucky lol.
