 Hey guys! I was wondering; The other week I had my rear demister switch out in my EF Futura and noticed there was an extra plug behind there and wires to it, does anyone know if that means i can fit an electric aerial and the button from a Fairmont, and also does anyone know if its possible to fit the climate control panel from a Fairmont into a Futura.

It can be swapped, and a LOT of people have done it, but it requires a complete dash out job.

You need to replace the dash loom (or add heaps of wires) install a vacuum solenoid, fan regulator, ambient sensor, sunload sensor etc,

The swap can be done in a day, but you pretty much need a donor car.

And no, thres no need to loose AC gas or replace the whole heaterbox.

Don't worry dude, I am sure at least one person has replied to OZBMX like that too.

Welcome to Fordmods, you will find the search function is a bit flunky, but I am certain the administrator has found a fix for this later in the year.

I thought that blank plug behind the demister panel was for the rear wiper switch on the wagon models? My old futura had it too and I was certain that was it. I've looked behind the panel on my Fairmont and there's a blank plug there that doesn't goto any button too... I could be wrong though. :)

If there are 3 plugs there, one will be for the aerial. On my wagon I have the 3 due to the rear wiper and replacing the dash loom with a Fairmont version. Previously on the GLi wiring it only had 2 - rear wiper and demister. So, long story short and all that, a car will have 2 default, as it is the same wiring as a wagon, a Fairmont of any flavor will have 3 which includes the aerial.

Cheers
RD
