Problem with a BA ignition switch. The "start" position return has failed and it has to be returned to the "run" position manually. Ford parts tells me that I have to replace the entire steering column. Has anyone had this problem.

Might be worth talking to the guys at FTG auto salvage and getting a column from them.
The car will need to be done at ford as they need to initialize the car to talk to all the modules. As if you plug it in the car will be immobilised and won't start!
