I'd change all the seats.

I don't think you can get the same headrest pattern for EF GLi's as fairmonts have a more velour.

you could try taking off the seat covers and removing the foam etc, and seeing if the seat backs have provisions for the headrests. but, in the end it'd be alot less effort to go out and by a futura upwards interior. a wrecker shouldnt charge you too much for the lot.

Just get the futura seats as Mash85 said. Too much stuffing around involved otherwise.

i did this conversion mainly because the seats had cigarette burns and were blacker than night.

Stock EF GLi seats dont have the provisions for them.

Go out and get a futura or fairmont set.

if you are considering power windows then now is the time as you can match the door trims with the seats.

Watch out because where i worked they sold the drivers seat for $250. SO a whole set would cost about $500-$700. A rip if you ask me but i dont care because i got the whole set for $100

I want to do this to my EL XR6...I have the futura rear seats...what I want to do it replace the rear XR6 seats with the futura ones...but also swapping the seat covers to keep them the same...then I want to put XR6 doughnut ones in the rear...thats where I have come to a halt...finding a pair of EL XR6 headrests is proving difficult!

ive got a gli, a friend of mine used to have a futura with the same interior trim as mine and the rear headrest if i could get hold of a set and the piece they clip into could i just cut holes in the top of my rear seats and fit them in that way or would it be easier to take the whole rear seat from a wrecker?

Yeah get a Futura rear seat. The trim might match up (cannot be 100% sure).

You'll find the EF GLI & Futura trims will match (pacman trim).

That's okay Masher, I don't always get it right.
In this case you are correct - the gli gets a different cloth trim, with the centre cloth bits being different to the outers.
I might be thinking the EL's ?? My memory must be pretty bad . . .

One thing I don't forget - the vinyl seats in the taxi's were pretty attrocious.
