How hard?
What else do you have to change apart from the rear looms + motors?
BEM module - does it need to be replaced?

anyone done it?

Cheers

You'll need new door trims as well

how much would you be looking at for the rear looms and motors? i was planning on upgrading to a BA/BF XR interior down the track which i presume have power windows in the back.

This may sound silly, but how would getting two rear doors from a BA/BF Falc with power rears for a wreckers go?

This way you should have everything you need...You'll just have to paint the doors to suit your car...

most wreckers split the parts, and the door would be worth a bit... u just need the looms, the trims and the regs, i doubt the bem needs to be changed as if u look in the fuse box there are rear power window fuses already... that said there isnt wiring in the drivers door loom for the extra switches

BEM doesnt need changed.

You dont really need new door trims, you CAN put the switch in the same hole as the current manual winder and make it look decent...saves paying a lot of extra cash for new trims...

Something I might consider doing after the wedding...

BA Mark 1 XR6's had wind up windows in the back, unless they had leather seats, or unless they paid the extra $400 to get them.

then you'd have to pay to have the doors sanded back, prepped, painted and blended with the rest of the car. Wouldn't be cheap.

how sure on that are u? there isnt alot of clearance between the door trim and the door frame where the winder comes through and the factory switches are around 3-4cm deep

yeah but i've situations where my mate (who doesn't ever think about stuff getting stolen...christ he leaves his house unlocked when we go out sometimes) has been in the back and we driven to someones house, got out he leaves the window down without me knowing and i've come back and my car doesn't even need to be broken into. i would like eletric windows so i can just push the up button on all the windows and also when i get my aftermarket alarm i can have auto window winding mechanism thingo...plus i think it is a luxury sort of item as i've liven with 4WD's my whole life.
