buongiorno boys. im keen on the idea of having rear headrests in my EL GLi. i pressed around the top of the seats this arvo, feeling for holes for the headrests to just drop into but coulcnt find anything. maybe they go into the parcel shelf... anybody able to shed a bit of light on this extremely important issue? i cant have my precious backseat passengers having nowhere to place their heads.

hi, the mounting brackets are not welded into the gli seats. you need futura/fairmont optioned rear seat frames. probably easier to find a set of futura /fairmont seats at wreckers than changing frames. craig

it can be done, did so myself recently. i went to my local self serve wreckers and bought a pair of rear seat backs with headrests for $20 and have transferred the frames into my el xr8 rear seats as they didnt have back headrests. i found a rear pair of ed ghia leather donut headrests at same wreckers $20 and had them retrimmed to match the el fronts

Can be done but needs some mods and trim work done.

macxr8 fitted AU front and rear leather, here is some poor pictures I took of the rear seat conversion.

Wowo--- Now you've got me almost buying some black leather AU XR8 seats that have been hit by deploying airbags......

Hope it wasn't too much work to get the seats fitting... I am handy with an angle grinder, but I leave the welding to someone who owns the equipment...

I think I'll buy them if the price is within my outstretched grasp....!....

(will have to pick up the pace of selling parts on auction sites...!)
