Hey guys.

Half way through my full fairmont conversion, i pulled the heater box out of the EF and one of the copper heater tubes that go in the back of the heater unit has pulled out!!!

My question is, can this be silver soldered back in? or

Can i use the heater core out of the EB in the EF heater box? or

Can i mod the EF CC stuff needed, onto the whole EB heater box?

Thanks guys, all help appreciated.

Andrew.

hi

you can use the heater core from the eb as they are the same as ef..
i think it would be easier to swap the core over as you would need to pull the box apart to solder the core anyway..

i recently put a ef heater core and aircon evaporator core in my ea and it was a direct fit

and the internals of the 2 boxes are pretty much identical..
so from 2 heater boxes you can make one good one..

Mate, do yourself a favour and source new AC and heater units.....

They are renowned for leaking and when they do (they are both getting to that age) you'll have to pull all your handiwork apart again!!!!

My two cents anyway!
