i just installed climate control into my EF, replacing the factory air-con unit. replaced heater box (remove entire dash), dash loom, drain A/C gas, etc etc - so a full-on job!

You cant, you need to replace everything associated with it, like the complete dash wiring, and heater box.

That is not entirley true.

You can just replace the unit itself without replacing any of the other bits.

The following functions will not operate however.
1. The fan will not operate
2. The A/C will not operate
3. The ambient temp will not operate
4. You will be unable to direct the air to head, feet etc (your windscreen will always be cool when you driver a long though)
5. The digital display will not operate
6. You will be unable to control your climate automatically (or otherwise come to think of it).

It will be cool tho for you to look at your car when it is turned off and tell everyone that you have climate control...............................

Good luck tho seriously mate, it is a big job to do the conversion, but there are shortcuts if you decide to do it!

The sensor is at the front of the car near the bonnet latch. Near the A/C condensor!

It's a job well worth doing and NOT THAT HARD to do LOL ( if you are a reasonably mechanically minded person) with a reasonable set of tools and lots of patients. :D :D :D
Mine took me 8 hours by myself exept for daughter holding up the heater box when I refitted the new one
