I have just finished installing a trip computer in my EF and surprise surprise its not working 100%.
I followed the instructions in the Tech Docs section and have tried all i can come up with but it just wont light up. It seems to be working i.e. the av fuel av speed inst fuel etc etc is all there but the main display does not light up i have tried about 5 different globes tested all wires with multi meter a few times and to me it should be working.
The lights wont come on when a button is pushed but from time to time it lights up when i turn the ignition off nothing more tho.
So yeah im officially out of ideas anyone got any ideas???
Im thinking it must be wiring to the LCD display but when tested it shows voltage the side lights up and dims just no LCD light.

Cheers

In the instructions I got you have to cut a white wire to make the lighting work properly.

It says and I quote
"Cut the white wire on the black 8 pin connector and insulate end."

"Note: This wire must be cut to ensure the trip computer display operates correctly when the park/head lamps are on."
