if its auto afaik you cant.
the limiter is incorperated into the ecu.
and its there for a reason. anything above that speed your risking transmision/tailshaft failure..
and possably death?
i would be working on getting it to accelerate faster not going for a faster top speed

180+ is dumb but if you want to be a nob and do it, get a two piece tail shaft installed.... get a piggy back chip to remove the limiter....dont wrap yourself around a pole :?

^^ even then, just cause the car is physically capable of doing 180, doesnt mean it can handle sufficiently at that speed, but good luck to him hey...

I find there is more fun having the car accelerate hard to half those speeds, rather than coasting top speed

And a tail shaft loop.

And please, don't attempt those sort of speeds anywhere near any other road users, trees, houses or on any public road where you could kill someone - at those sort of speeds you don't have much chance of seeing something in time, and then there is the fact that you need a LOT of braking distance to stop from those sorts of speeds...

The ECU cuts power to the injectors and you just feel the car jerk like a mofo until you're below 180km/h and then it kicks in again.

But yeah...speed limiters are there for a reason (and also rev limiters).

If you plan on going on a suicide mission, make sure you take yourself out...not any innocent by standers.

phong =P~

It may not have been limited. There is a way to remove the speed limiter, but there is also a reason why nobody has posted it on here. I had removed it on my EF, and it is only capable of a top speed of 213km/h

Yes I said it.

Those following my EEC modding thread will know I successfully removed speed limiter and raised rev limiter to 6250. Below is WHY there's a speed limiter.

Complete tailshaft failure, took out, the shaft (duh!), gearbox, exhaust, pobaly other s**t too, yet to see. Plus for some reason both airbags deployed. Poor Jake (dyno operator) wasn't too happy.

So to come:

two piece tailshaft
new box (will a xr6t auto bolt up???)
new exhaust (it was only 6 months old :()
airbags

But of course the real reason was torque that'd make a twin turbo V8 blush
