Well this might sound like a silly question but as far as i can see the stock rubber type boot mounts to pins under the surround. I have a eb gt boot and it has no holes for mounting.
Can someone please post a pic of the boot fitted up from under the surround. Or does it just sit over the shifter not mounting to the sides?. |

it should have a plastic rim stitched to the leather with holes to fitt onto the pins in the surround..
ill take a pic in a few mins.... |

Thanks heaps troyman.
I ended up getting a leather boot from gaiters and it looks like it does not have the plastic insert stitched to the bottom. |

Thanks mate.
Well they claim that its a factory fitment boot but does not have the plastic base stiched in and I would not think you could buy the plastic base by itself. Looks like ill have to get a refund. Which is a shame because it is a well made gear boot with really good stiching and good quality leather  .

if your handy you could make up a couple of straight bits of plastic,
mark and drill the plastic ,punch the holes in the leather and use the plastic strips to hold the leather on the surround tabs... |

Was thinking of doing something along those lines. Just annoyed that it was advertised as a factory fitment and it clearly is not. Ill see what the seller has to say.

IS this the ones on eBay from the uk? Bought one for a freelander. Had to fiddle around with it but fit ok. Awesome quality. Was going to get one for the eb but doesn't look like I will now if there is issues. Let us know how you go. I'm sure others here have purchased the same one maybe they can shed some light???

Yes it is. But I must say that they are a very good seller. I told them the trouble that I was having and they made me a custom boot up just waiting for it to arrive. I sent them all of the measurements so ill take a photo of it when its fitted up so you can all see what it looks like.
They really went out of their way to help so dont be put off by this is what im saying just wait a little while and ill give you some feedback on the new boot. All of the measurement that I have given them are of the rubber boot. |

Well my leather boot came today. Am very happy with it. Its fitted all I had to do was punch the holes for the surround. I will post some pictures when I get my camera back.

Awesome. They had already supplied the boot and they made the plastic part for it is that right?

No they actually made me a custom boot for free. It does not have the plastic on the bottom but the base is shaped like the standard rubber boot. So I punched holes in it to fit over the pins on the surround. I hacked up an icecream container lid and put holes in it to lock it in. I will get photos which will explain all. Still trying to get my camera back.
