I'm about to install my trip computer. I just want to double check something. I have a Gli and i've been told that the wiring loom will behind the plastics. The only thing i need is a wire going from the computer to the dash cluster? Is this correct? I would have thought that it would have been a part of the loom that goes into the trip computer?

Need to add one wire from the cluster to the TC.

All others can be obtained from either the cig lighter/radio and non used
buttons from the demister (as they have illumination)

Your cluster wont have the LIGHT BLUE data wire You have to ADD it!
to Pin 14 (refer) http://www.fordmods.com/forums/documents.php?doc=14

The light blue on the opposite side is EEC Module data Not TC data!

And good luck!

yes you should have the clock loom already there behind the plastic. you will need to source a trip comp plug with the trip comp as the clock plug is different. then as has been said and very clearly outlined in the doco, just add 1 wire. i did it in my ef xr6 i had and have just put one in my eb so if i can do it .......

Just doing this mod at the moment and was just wondering if someone can suggest where to get those tiny little terminals from. Have tried Ford, Coventries and a number of Auto Leccys with no success. Any help appreciated. Jim.

mate if your trip computer comes with its own plug (like mine did, had been cut off the loom), you can carefully remove one of the terminals from it, complete with little bit of wire attached, and insert it into the cluster plug and just extend the wire.
