For those who do not know here i am building an AU upto my own personal preferences as what is available from ford doesn't suit my tastes or requirements

I'm looking at putting a BA interior into an AU and my question is will the dash even fit into an AU?
YES i know this will be a HUGE job but it's something i want to do and if there is a way of doing it then i will

I have heard that the BA shared a similar floor pan to the AU but i'm not sure about the firewalls or even if the curvature of the 2 dashes will be the same

Anyone care to shed some light on this subject?

the BA has the same basic shell as the AU
ie width and length hell the ba uses AU doors :)

front seats should fit piss easy
rears same
as for the dash man NO IDEA only way to find out is to put a BA dash in and see!

now if u can find a fooked BA XT and transplant teh whole lot ie engine loom dash etc your job will be big but easy as then the all the wiring for the dash/ icc ecu etc is there and will not need modding

I found out someone here has done this conversion so will spend a bit of time trying to search for it

Absolute minimum would be BA XR leather trim, i'm actually waiting to hear back from Darren to see if he has GT-P trim still in stock

looked pretty much through interior section of this site but can't find guy who put the BA complete trim into there car but have found some helpful information

Anyone else thinking of doing this needs to realise that BA's use what is known as a CAN BUS system and this will need to be adapted into the AU to get the whole dash and accessories to work

The easiest way i can see doing this is to use the complete BA wiring harness and putting into AU either using the BA computer as well reprogrammed to suit windsor motor or using aftermarket computer that liases with the CAN BUS

I'm thinking the later option would be of more benefit in my scenario so that's way i'm looking at moment

yer what i said before

do a complete transplant of BA wiring into au
even the engine :)

or since u have a 5.0 the ba ecu could be flashed to use the windsor....

Yer thats the one i was talking about. You should talk to him for some guidance. But at the end of the day you will still have an AU. Its probably not worth all that work.

YES it would be easier but no where near as much fun :P

I have my modification list laid out in front of me so know what i am after out of project, now it's just a matter of putting everything into action

I know this is not going to be a simple mod but hey, nothing custom is right?
