I have to say I was looking for one for some time checked many a wrecker, basically found the only odd one here and there that would have one would be broken, I ended up buying a broken one hoping to repair it until the ba idea came along and it went off the radar, hehe.

I have my suspicions as to why they break and if I'm correct this is the best possible solution I can imagine.

Do it man! :)

A bit like those yellow headlight repair kits on eBay. Cheaper to buy a couple of sheets of wet and dry and a bucket!

Why are you guys not using Jool's easy and permanent shifter fix method? :| I did mine a couple of years back and no problems yet.

I dont know Mike! maybe they think a second hand one that costs money wont break... I did mine 4-5 years ago and still no issues and cant tell its been repaired. The funny thing is that the fix was so easy once thought of its not funny. Maybe i should sell a kit ( screw and earplug ) and instructions on ebay for say $20 a pop lol.

Well I have to say, my lane is manual now so ill never even have to fix one, in that car anyway. But what does your fix entail, do you have a tech doc on this as I am interested in what you are talking about.

I mean you come on here, saying you have a fix and mention an ear plug and a self tapping screw and yet you give no details or link to where a tech dock might be.

Josh

[EDIT] sorry mate at a quick glance I was looking for a post from you with a link, but obviously someone else posted the link

Yeah mate I just had a look at your tech doc, and I have to say very resourceful. very neat and tidy.

I did jump the gun, as when you replied to my first post on this thread and said why not try my fix I did a quick scan of the previous posts, looking for one from you. And did not find one, that is a good repair job though.

Well done
