just curious.... what is the best product to use to clean and condition leather seats??? i pulled my seats out of the fairmont last weekend and iv been cleanin flat out since then but cant seem to get all the grim and shine out of the leather.

im slowly but surly getting the leather a little bit softer, but is there any possible way to get it soft fast? or is it just bad luck cos the people who bought the car from new never considered conditioning the leather?

any help would be great

well iv just about polished off a full bottle of meguires gold class rich leather cleaner/conditioner and its not all that much better then before

dont get me wrong it is working, but its very very slow. just about to go buy some more interior stuff now, might grab some of the auto glym leather stuff.. the other products by them seem to be pretty good

ill let you all know how things go by the end of the week (when i put my seats back in, i never noticed how much more comfortable the fairmont ghia seats were to my old gli ones :) )

dont wanna disappoint a lot of people but the reason is probably got something to do with the fact that the seats arent genuine leather they are a blen of vynil and leather. on the real nice models got the good stuff ltd's fbt's and EL GT's is what if been told

Rapier - we call that “pleatherâ€￾. LOL, it’s off a plastic cow. China has these you know! HAHA
Actually, to clean leather, get yourself a shoe polish brush. The type they sell at Woolworths is fine. The black bristled one does the job. Now you need leather cleaner and something called elbow grease. I think that’s sold at Bunning’s at ten bucks an hour. : P
You can be fairly hard on the leather with the brush too. Warm water works on body fat that’s not too ingrained.

So long as when you have finished you nourish the leather with some conditioner.
I work with leather lounge suites at work, and leather gets dirty very quickly with body oils from hair and skin etc. doesn’t matter how clean you are your skin has acid and oils in it naturally and these eat leather and destroy it over time. Bit of T.L.C. here makes it last a hell of a long time
If you guys get stuck for some cleaner I can get hold of some stuff from bulls leather care in brisbane for yas. :)
hope this helps,
Sambo[/b]

well we had a lounge suite that came in and the customer had not cleaned it in four years or something like that. so what was done was the leather was thoroughly cleaned, by this I mean straight leather cleaner squirted on it and rubbed in then scrubbed with a leather brush, then dried then sanded - yes - fine sandpaper, then they rubbed colour into it and dried with a hairdryer. after that the excess colour was wiped off and the end result was pretty good. I'm not certain as to what they used dye wise etc, but did the job well
