I got the windows in the wagon tinted @ 35%, and the rear windows and tailgate in 25% I think it was.

Anyways, I want to make the cargo area even darker. The passenger windows I can do myself fine, but I wouldn't even attempt to do the rears.

Now, I was told 25% is the darkest legal limit for the wagons. I think I was severely ted to. 8-)

Anyone know anyone who will do it darker? Any advice?

i'm sure there will be someone somewhere. my old xr6 wagon i had tinted at 20%. cash job, no questions asked. couple of pics in gallery. bit far to travel for you just for tints though. i would think every state would have similar businesses. go to a few of the smaller places. this guy just worked on his own. i never once got hassled either. good luck with the mafia tint.

Around the cargo area you should be able to black it out - that's what delivery vans do, they usually paint over them, I would of thought you'd be allowed to.

okok!
i knew posting about 500 pages of crap would come in handy.
according to VIC roads legislation 2:

Australian Design Rule 8/00 requires the windscreen to have a light transmittance of atleast 75%, however, only windscreens tinted during the manufacturing process are acceptable.
All windows of a motor vehical, other than windscreens avaliable to the driver to obtain a view of the road or other road users must have a light transmittance of atleast 35%, hoever it is desirable that the windows to the side and ahead of the driver is not reduced below 70%.

lol, i hope this helps....
note- this is VIC rules...

yeah its pretty much 35% legal for anything south of qld, windscreens you cant touch except in qld (maybe nt not sure). in saying that you can request lower by anyone that fit window tinting, its just they say requested by owner not rta (nsw) approved on the receipt. i got my maverick windows done to 15% for $200 bux by pro-tint at blacktown. you just have to request a low level.

any tinting place will do illegal tint, u just have to know how to ask. there isnt a single window tinter who doesnt do weekenders. if u ask over the phone they wont do it because they dont know who you are but if u ask if you can leave a number in case they know anyone who may do it as a cashie on a weekend you'll get a phonecall back

Well, when I got this tint done, I got stung $80 to remove the 'old tint', and paid nearly $400 all up for the tint.

So, based on that, I really don't want the tint on there removed, unless he'll do it for free!! :P

Done ASAP!!

You have 25% on atm?

Just throw some 5 or 10 on top and it was make it darker if you dont want to strip the tint.

I would do that, except I've learnt from my mistakes, and won't be attempting to do the cargo area whatsoever.

Can do the rest no dramas.
