hey just did this last night... my interior light the PRND321 one was uneven and dim so i pulled the auto leaver of and took the suround out . you can just pry the black part from the grey and behind the symboles ford has put some white s**t and a sticker just peal that off...

i dont think i make scene but just pull it apart and scape s**t off...

Hahaha... i get ya mate.. Sounds interesting.. Might have to have a look at mine.

You reckon you could show us a pic of it from a bit further away? so we can tell how bright it is?

When I had the auto in, I had a corresponding coloured LED under each letter. Looked sweet.

i upgraded to the el one that has all clear letters/numbers, i put a blue parker globe in the std holder works well.

but is a bit dull, might have to try vaxace's idea.

Yeah take more pics. I hope peeling away that white stuff isn't a bad thing. But I am interested, they are too dim stock.

Also my auto transmission stalk is very bloody loose at the moment and it's a bit of a worry, what could be the problem there? I mean you can move it all about (forward, left, right, back) just a little too much for it to be normal.

till .if your shifter is loose its the 2 grommets at base of the shifter.
only a few $ each from ford ..

yep ..at the base of the shifter ,(linkage ?)can do from inside the car .
you should be able to have a go it ..
i got a mate to do mine on my EA i had b4 i sold it ,..it was very sloppy .
new ones firmed it up like it was new ..
maybe someone hear knows more on fitting them .i think you pry the old out ,push new in ..
ill check my book .

i couldnt find anything in my workshop manual .(its a EA.EB.ED book)
yeah ..check out your gregory's mate ..
if theres nuthin there, ford might help ya out or someone on hear .
ill ask my mate how its done ..

My light isnt working at all, how do i go about getting the lever and the sorround off? Is there a screw on the back of the lever or something?

the handle on the shift should just unscrew. then just jam a screw driver in the surround and prise it off

f**k I hate removing it. I remember when I was playing around with dad's and i scraped the s**t out of the bolt. So with mine i raped some bloody rags around my bolt removing implement (whatever that is called) and took it off. And wow, it scraped the s**t out of it too! Wonderful! So now I do have a bright P R N D 3 2 1 display, but a f**k up bolt. f**k!
