Just wanting to know how to turn the odometer, trip computer/clock and air con blue.

I've done a search and can't find what I'm looking for. I know there are people out there who have done it but I can't find any "how-to" threads.

I know you can easily buy replacement blue globes for the dial backings etc but I'm unsure about the little LCD display parts. There must be some sort of film you can buy.

Help anyone?

Oh wait... That doesn't actually answer my question. How do you change the colour of the LCD's on the odo and clock?

It says to use filters but doesn't say how or what type or colour... Perhaps this is one I'm going to have to try myself...

white filter with blue leds should work fine.
I think just normal paper will do.

But how do you remove the existing orange colouring?

If you can work out how to remove the filter and change the bulb then the colour will change. The standard bulbs put out like a yellow orange colour, and when it goes thru the filter it makes it even more orange.
You gotta pull everything apart to get to the filter though, and be careful coz the glass breaks easy on the trip comp and odo.

Not yet mate. You didn't take any pictures or anything?

I got the cluster apart and then had to head off to work. I've been flat out ever since. I'm going to drop into Jaycar this weekend (only time I'm going to get free) and see if they've got some little globes and filters.

Nah sorry didnt think of getting the camera out.
I only had white LEDs left, so I had to use a blue filter, which happened to be an old plastic folder cover.
In the clock theres only one bulb (I'd imagine the trip comp would be the same), and an orange filter.
Strangely enough the bulb has a blue cover on it :/
The colour is not as uniform as it was before, its duller on the edges, but I think thats becuase the blue cover is thicker than the original filter. Ideally you use a blue LED with a white filter, not the other way round like I did.
The clock basically falls apart once you've got it unscrewed, so its pretty easy. The odo is basically the same.

Those are the LEDs I used, after modifications. I cut the plastic off the sides to leave only the thicker piece down the centre, a perfect fit for the T5 bulb holders.

But, theres now a heap of T5 LEDs on ebay. Thatd be right... They should be basically plug and play. Ima buy some now.

The twist in bulbs are Narva 47902 (I think, been a while). The filter is an oragne piece of paper that is jst sitting there between the glass and the filter holder.

I used cellephane, tissue paper, display folder cover, anything blue that might work.

Its easy to do just gotta be careful taking everything apart.

Stupid question... How do you remove the needles on the cluster? Just pull hard? They feel like they'll break...

EDIT... Yep... just pull

Just had a close look at this cluster... Are the globes pictured below meant to already be blue...?

Are all the globes the same? Like, are they interchangeable? Are there some brighter than others? i.e. If I replaced the blue ones with clear ones would they work and if so, would they be brighter or duller?
