Doesn't look like I did much but I'm thinking "less is more!"

I made the Carbon Fibre pattern myself :) and fiddled with the FPV logos for ages til I got a good one.

What do you think?!

I like, but maybe try the bird of pray like in the fpv :-)
wish people were making these for the au fairmint *winks* hehe

tickfordbetty... I fiddled with the "bird of prey" - the Falcon, for a while but I couldn't get it to look how I wanted.

data_mine... I was actually thinking about printing the actual cluster image onto a transparency and "sticking" it over the original cluster background. And just make the necessary cut-outs on the original background so the light shines through the ford logo etc.

The only problem I can see with this idea is the fact that printers don't have white ink. So I would have to make sure that any white on the cluster image corresponds to white on the original cluster.

The more I think about it, the harder it really seems...

Using a transparency for the mask is not a bad idea...

Hi Folks..

Here is one of my first attempts. I don't have photoshop, this was done with free tools like the gimp, so probably not as flash..

I'm pretty happy with this for an early effort.. it's been more than 5 years since I did this much image manipulation.

Those are just compressed jpg's... so not that sharp.. the original png's are totally crisp.

Hey have any of you guys had the plastic piece that goes on top of the dials painted?
Im not talking about the needles i'm talking about the black thing

Im thinking of getting mine painted the same colour as my car.
So far i have the head unit surround painted body colour and it looks really good (better than the old black) so i think painting the plastic inside the cluster would look good also.

What are your thoughts?

I also had custom dials fitted but it just didn't do it for me the stock ones look better IMO

If your car isn't FPV or Tickford why put it on your dials?
Its like putting an FPV badge on a EF...

Nothing.
The ford badge if you want but don't go putting FPV...when clearly an EF is not.

Are you looking at my old one? or my latest?

I totally agree with you but the truth is that I couldnt afford a Tickford of any kind when I bought my car 3 years ago... and I'm not going to trade in... Coz I'd be trading down. So why not put Tickford! I figure mine is an "enhanced" Falcon :D

Both.
One has FPV and the other has Tickford. Your car is not either of them so why would you put it on the dials.?
